vintage florals

I know this might be a bit of a bore, but I'm still going on about the vintage tea-towels. The above image is a detail of a gorgeous floral tea- towel from the collection I stumbled upon on the weekend. I'm just loving the unexpected use of colour- navy, oranges and hot pink. I don't know how, but it just works so well that it makes my heart go a little fast! xx

vintage tea-towel inspiration

I know that I can't be alone in my love for 1960's and 1970's Australiana. This weekend I was lucky enough to stumble upon an incredible collection of mint condition tea-towels from the 60's and 70's, all completely unused, and showcasing the most beautiful illustrations of Australian flora and fauna. I think these would make great inspiration for invitations and table settings at any Aussie vintage party. xx

PS. Nat, you were the first person on my mind as I was posting this! xx

floral vintage crockery

I can honestly say that there are not too many things that I love in the world more than a good floral design. Here are three new plates for the collection, all sporting very different, yet very beautiful florals. Enjoy!xx

el and charlie's wedding via hipstamatic

The ceremony...enter the bridesmaids and the bride.

The newly married couple!

It was a little rainy but there was a lot to celebrate and rose petals were thrown.

We then went from the church to the opera house.....

Where we enjoyed cocktail hour on the forecourt until sunset.

We then entered the most beautiful white marquee, filled with flowers and candles.

Enter the bride and groom....

They cut the cake....

And we all danced all night long.

There was drinking and singing and general joyousness.

And before we knew it, the garter was removed and it was time to head home. xx

a sydney wedding - el and charlie

Last weekend I celebrated the beautiful marriage of El and Charlie. The above images are a little taster for  a wedding post that is coming shortly! It was an incredible day and I will be sharing the details with you soon...watch this space. xx

a vintage party on facebook

A vintage party has entered the world of facebook. To keep up with the ever increasing demands of social media, I have started a facebook page to act as a forum and resource for A vintage party customers and friends. So that the facebook page gets traction, it would be great if you would check it out at here and then click on the like button next the page name at the top. You will also notice that I have added the followers gadget to this blog (the last gadget in the right hand column) as well as comments. If you are so inclined, please sign up to follow this blog, and feel free to post feedback and comments and I promise to post things that will keep you interested and inspired.

Enough of a rant from me today. So excited about El and Charlie's wedding this afternoon! I will be posting about it later so watch this space. xx

a new york wedding

I can really credit one blog for my introduction to the world of blogging, and that is a cup of jo. The above images are from Joanna Goddard's wedding in New York City, by the ever so talented Max Wagner. I adore the hand crafted nautical inspired invitations. Today I am off to sydney again for the wedding of the lovely Eloise and Charlie at the Sydney Opera House  - next week I will be posting my first real wedding, so watch this space. xx

vintage inspired equestrian invitations

Now, even though I have never been one of those girls that are in to horses, and even though I never went to pony camp, I absolutely love this incredible vintage equestrian inspired invitation. This could be adapted to suit any passion- boating, surfing, sailing, cooking, travelling...so many options. I'm also loving the use of themed stamps. xx

vintage wallpaper and vintage postcards

Look at this beautiful flower arrangement with the gorgeous floral wallpaper background! This colour combination really makes my heart swoon- and I also love the use of vintage postcards.

a vintage weekend

I just spent the weekend in Sydney and spent most of my time at my mum's house rediscovering vintage treasures. The top image here of a hand painted vintage platter (my mother was kind enough to send it home with me). The second image is of my mum and her father, taken in the late 70's when she was about my age.The final shot is of a collection of porcelain vintage birds that my grandmother collected. I always adored these birds as a child, and i think that they would make the most gorgeous table decorations at any vintage party! xx

wedding photobooth

In an attempt to diversify the content of this blog, I am going to start to post about the parties and weddings that i will be attending over the coming months. It seems as though the season of nuptials has begun!

Image above is of Marco, Scotty, Jonno, Nat, Simon and Nic by Jonno Howell from the photobooth set up at my wedding. xx

a spring wedding

I stumbled across this incredible wedding over at my new favourite blog junkaholique. Im loving the colourful spring flowers, the vintage bunting and the long banquet tables. The blog is definitely worth checking out for pretty interiors and vintage inspiration. xx

community halls

My wedding reception was held in a beautiful 100 year old community hall in Northern New South Wales. While i would have loved to have huge crepe paper pom poms hanging from the ceiling (like in the second image) it was pretty difficult to hang things from the roof because it was just too high! xx

a crafty wedding

One of my favourite craft blogs is hello sandwich. The very clever ebony (aka hello sandwich) is an amazing crafter and very talented graphic designer. This cute wedding was profiled on her blog here. I am especially loving the cut out bird name places. Just awesome. xx
